Pink Jeep Tour
Sedona Pink Jeep Tour 06/30/2022
Today's adventure took us to Sedona, Az. Sedona was established in 1902 when it got its first post office. Sedona was named after Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly (1877–1950), the wife of Theodore Carlton Schnebly, the city’s first postmaster. She was celebrated for her hospitality and industriousness. Her mother, Amanda Miller, claimed to have made the name up because “it sounded pretty”. More than 60 Hollywood productions have been made here, starting in 1923. People come here from all over, attracted to the surrounding mountains. That is what brought us here.
Have you ever wanted to take an off road tour of the back country? Go no further than the Pink Jeep Tour Company. We started the day off in Williams. Ethan and Riley rode the zip line in the down town area. We then had lunch at Nany’s Mexican restaurant (which was very good) and drove to Sedona. We explored the down town area for a couple of hours and then went to the Pink Jeep office at 5:30 pm to check in. At 6:00 we began our adventure in to the Black Hills mountain range around Sedona. Our trip lasted two hours when we rode into the sunset. Fantastic scenery. We enjoyed listening to our tour guide as she explained the history of the region and made stops along the way for photo ops. I will let the kids share their thoughts now,

We went downtown and Ethan and Riley rode the zipline. I thought it was too high. We went to Nany’s Tacos and had lunch. After lunch we drove to the Pink Jeep Tour. Once our driver started driving, we saw Chimney Rock and went down a very bumpy road. At stop 1 the driver made our picture and we saw a pond. We flipped rocks over looking for scorpions, but we didn’t find any. At stop 2 we took a panorama picture. Then we went to a restaurant and ate dinner and went back to our house.

This morning we drove downtown in Williams. Riley and I rode an awesome zipline. I went up so high off the ground! It was not scary though and we rode twice. After that we went to Nany’s Tacos for lunch. From there we drove to Sedona for a Pink Jeep Tour. It didn’t start for a few hours so we looked around Sedona. At 6 we walked over to the Pink Jeep Tour place and waited for a tour guide. When she got there, we hopped into her pink tour jeep. We went through West Sedona out of town and saw giant mesas and mountains. Throughout the tour she told us what each of them was called, and we tried to rename them. Lastly on the way home we saw of herd of cows walking down the road to our house. I thought today was a great day!

Today we left a little bit later. We left at about 11:30am since our tour didn’t start until 6pm. When we got into town Ethan and I rode on a zipline twice. It didn’t go very fast, but we still went really high. After that, we went to Nany’s to eat lunch. Nany’s is a Mexican restaurant. Their food was amazing. Although we were at a Mexican restaurant, Ethan and Samuel decided to get a cheeseburger. Once we finished eating, we started the drive to Sedona. When we got there, we went around to some of the shops. Mama and I went to a smoothie place and we got a mango and orange smoothie. Ethan and Samuel got an ice cream cone and Granna and Granddaddy got a creamsicle smoothie. When we left there we went to the jeep place and waited about 30 minutes to get on the pink jeep. When we got on the jeep with our tour guide, she showed us a few of the rocks and their names. We went on a really bumpy road to get to our first stop. We got a few pictures and then we got back on the jeep and drove a couple more minutes to get to our next stop. There, we could see some of the rocks shaped like different things. I named one of the rocks Gary because it looked like a snail. We then got back on the jeep and went back into Sedona. We started looking around to see where we wanted to eat. We ended up eating at another Mexican restaurant called Don Diegos. Our tour guide mentioned it to us and it was so good as well. We then got back in the car and headed back home. On the way home we saw 2 bunnies and some cows on the side of the road. Granddaddy almost ran over one of the bunnies. When we got back to the house we all got ready for bed and called it a night.
